The iPhone 5S
release date has once again been pinned for descending days of September, though an exact iPhone 5S release date remains elusive
and likely won’t emerge until much closer to Apple’s presumed iPhone 5S
launch.
Rumors have been swirling in regards to Apple’s rumored iPhone 5S, the device that is expected to touch down and replace the iPhone 5 as the company’s flagship later on this year. Whispers suggest that the device will feature a design similar to the iPhone 5 with several upgrades including a new processor, improved camera, iOS 7 and quite possibly, a fingerprint
reader for added security.
According to sources production delays will push the iPhone 5S release into late September while the cheaper, plastic iPhone may arrive in early September. Apple’s cheaper iPhone is rumored to be heading to emerging markets and may offer buyers a number of options in terms of color. Apple’s current iPhone only comes in black and white.
Ming-Chi Kuo KGI Security analyst claims that the company is experiencing several production issues though most recently, rumors have pointed to the fingerprint reader as Apple’s troublemaker.
The KGI Securities analyst also believes that Apple may release the new iPad 5 in early September, something that agrees with rumors that have suggested that Apple’s iPad 5 specifications have been finalized and that production could wind up delivering the device in early fall. The fall season begins on September 22nd, a day after September 21st, the date that Apple launched last year’s iPhone 5.
While we’ve seen a release window mentioned, a specific iPhone 5S release date continues to remain shrouded in mystery, even to analysts who are known for their bold predictions.
We’ve seen September 20th mentioned as a possibility and while possible, it’s based on guesswork and is unlikely. Typically, an iPhone release date doesn’t emerge until much closer to Apple’s launch event. And if the iPhone 5S debuts in early-to-mid September, we likely won’t see dates emerge for a few weeks.
